For the Beef and Marinade:

Marinade the beef for one hour with the soy sauce, sesame oil and cornstarch (if you are in a hurry you can shorten the marinade time);
Whisk together soy sauce, sugar, ginger, and cornstarch in a bowl; stir until sugar has dissolved;
Heat your wok over high heat until smoking. Add 2 tablespoons oil and sear the beef on both sides until browned, add the onions and garlic and fry until the onions are soft and gold;
Add the broccoli, salt and pepper, stir and fry for two minutes;
Add in the sauce mixture you made earlier and stir, allow it to simmer and thicken for 30 seconds - 1 minute;
Turn off the heat, add green onion and sesame seeds;
Serve over rice.
